You better make good your promise. There are those who easily forget once they are away. I know you are not one of them.

So sweet. I believe your loved one would understand your reason for leaving. Anyway, it is but temporary and you promised to return. These were captured beautifully in the poem. Nice work.

Great to see someone so young writing poetry like this, Jhustin. Please keep it up, you show a great deal of promise. In fact, if English is your second language, and I would assume that as you live in the Philipines it is, what you're writing is amazing.

Thanks for wanting another comment on your poem from me ;) Saying goodbye is never easy...but when it is the 'right' thing to do...we must follow our heart! Nice poem although a sad one..

You portray it well, I think, but I've never been a guy. It seems very real. Why wouldn't the speaker even keep in touch while he was gone-'cuz he'd miss her too much to think straight? Reminds me of Jane Austen's novel Persuasion. The heroine persuaded by her friends to give her lover up, still loved him and regretted doing that; when he did return w/his circumstances improved, she still loved him and of course it ended happily ever after. The only next question is whether it does ever happen so in real life.
