If you can call yourself a troubled soul you are no longer a lost soul. That spiritual light you lost sight of, is still shining out there. Look harder, ask for Jesus's help, He's waiting for your first move - toward Him. And that will be the last time you will have move alone. Henceforth you walk with Jesus. Promise.
Daniel, I believe that Kerouac was walking with Jesus. At times, he lost sight of it. As always, your feedback is invaluable! Thanks so much!
People do need a direction to make sense of life; being aimless must be a terrible place to be..
Carl, in the early stages of Kerouac's life, it was extremely terrible because of his great talent as a football star. Had he a different coach, he might have chosen football as a career path.
Perfectly worded after having looked in the mirror. Thank you for sharing this selfportrait I do hope eagerly you are NOW no more a troubled soul, Richard. IF this is not true, I apologize, Poet! In any case I have enjoyed your suitable lines from the past, an amazing confession poem. GBU, Richard. A 10 and a myriad more.
Sylvia, I sincerely appreciate your sentiments. However, the troubled soul is Jack Kerouac. I am writing a book of poetry about his spirituality. To make it as realistic as possible, I have employed the first person singular tense. I am happy that you have enjoyed my poetry. The feeling is mutual.
Dillip, you've added yet another Kerouac Project poem to your favourites. It shows me that I'm on the right track. Thx so very much!
