Trickle Down Poem by Randy McClave

Trickle Down

I saw a homeless person late last night
It was such a terrible and sad and depressing sight,
He was begging for money and dressed in rags
I have more than him my soul sadly brags.
So, I did what I believed anyone of us would truly do
After I had thought my caring process clearly through,
I went to my bank and I took out twenty
Truthfully I thought to myself that would be plenty.
I then drove to a very affluent neighborhood
This is where I believed that I would do the most good,
I then found the biggest and the nicest house on the block
Then I put that twenty of mine in their mailbox.
Soon my gift will be known of, and also heard
I truly have done a great charitable deed, mark my word,
It won't be long now as I thought with a tear in my eye
Soon that twenty would trickle down, to that poor homeless guy.
