Teachers are seldom rewarded
For the sacrifices the make
Throughout their professional teaching life!
Sometimes they are cast aside, forgotten, despised.
Teachers are the ones who educate people
To make the world a better place
For all humans to live and perform wonders!
This tribute is inspired by one very deserving Teacher
MS. BLANCHE DUKE.
Ms. Duke,
You were a very dedicated Teacher!
A molder of minds!
Blessed you were by The Almighty
To have lived this long!
To the glorious age of 100 hundred years!
Generations past, present and future
Will thank you for your contribution
To the teaching profession
And the impact you had on their lives!
I thank you for using the book of Poems
Entitled 'EARTH HAS NO PLACE '
WRITTEN by PHIL WINTER
Published by A.H. STOCKWELL 1970.
To teach Poetry at the Guyana Training College
To the class of students, which included my brother
MICHAEL SMITH.
Ms. Duke, you have served with great distinction,
We are all grateful to you
For your service to this country Guyana,
As well as for your tremendous positive influence
Upon the lives of those whom you taught!
May the grace of God continue to sustain you daily
Until He calls you home in the Cosmic
To rest in his welcoming arms!
CHERYL WINTER.
