TRIBUTE TO KAZI NAZRUL ISLAM
[On the 44th death anniversary of poet Kazi Nazrul Islam, I pay my sincere respects to the poet.]
Pravat Kumar Mandal
O poet, thou give me salvation
From the deep darkness of despair
Thou save me from oblivion
I keep thy "Bidrohi" with care.
O poet, thou renew me today
Like every year in this instant.
Give me some light from thy bright ray
So that I am freed from overturn.
O poet, thou take my reverence
Lend me thy voice, thy burning pen
Let me express thee in thy sense
Let me feel thy feelings, thy pain.
O poet, you're my philosopher
Wherever thou live, live in peace
We're suffering from some fevers
Bless me and show the path of bliss.

Kazi Nazrul Islam (24 May 1899 – 29 August 1976) Great tribute and an heartfelt homage to -a great poet son of Bengal- whose poems and songs have inspired generations in pre & post independence India. His speeches were no less. Like Rabindra Sangeet, Nazrul Geeti is also unique and very popular. Thanks.
