There might be disadvantages of trees but it will never surpass the benefits that humanity could derive from them.

It is always great to have trees around. They purify our air and combat climate change, provide housing to millions of species and of course, a protection against floods.

A wonderful poem, Bri. It made me remember my childhood. Glad to know your beloved wife is a plant lover. I have a lot of experiences as regards trees but PH does not allow me to have long comments.

When I was a child and a teenager, I climbed trees in our backyard; mango, guava, avocado, mulberry etc. Sometimes I have this little pail and a little pack of salt and ate those fruits I gathered on top of our trees.

I climbed a tree a couple of weeks ago, a real challenge, and SOMEHOW managed to get back to solid ground, (nearly) unscathed/injured! ! Not TOO bad for 75 years old {me; I don't know how old the tree is) . : ) bri

And we had paddy fields. The smell of flowering paddy is intoxicating. So are the flowers of Areca nut trees. When I look back, I feel that we had a childhood in heaven.

Part 3. We used to have large area covered by flowering plants, like roses, jasmine and many more. Fantastic fragrance filled the breeze always- a mix of many nice sweet smells..

Part 2. Many mango trees, jackfruit trees, coconut trees, cashew nut trees etc are yielding fruits. And decent shade too over the land.
