Trees were my childhood friends (along with neighbor, Helen) .
Now trees, and other South Carolina plants, have me YELLIN'.
Oh, it may not be outloud-yelling; I keep some feelings inside,
But, my displeasure with some plants here, I'll not from you hide.

I love trees and all outdoor things. Enjoyed reading this poem.
A very well expressed and crafted poem. Top Marks!
There might be disadvantages of trees but it will never surpass the benefits that humanity could derive from them.
It is always great to have trees around. They purify our air and combat climate change, provide housing to millions of species and of course, a protection against floods.
A wonderful poem, Bri. It made me remember my childhood. Glad to know your beloved wife is a plant lover. I have a lot of experiences as regards trees but PH does not allow me to have long comments.
When I was a child and a teenager, I climbed trees in our backyard; mango, guava, avocado, mulberry etc. Sometimes I have this little pail and a little pack of salt and ate those fruits I gathered on top of our trees.
This poem resonates with me. Since childhood and until now, I am a tree lover specially fruit bearing trees.
I climbed a tree a couple of weeks ago, a real challenge, and SOMEHOW managed to get back to solid ground, (nearly) unscathed/injured! ! Not TOO bad for 75 years old {me; I don't know how old the tree is) . : ) bri
A wonderful poem! In spite of all the inconvenience, you love the trees and birds. You are a true lover of nature.
I've just gone through the edit-the-poem process, but changes have not occured yet. ;)
OOPS, Ooops, oops! I just saw a typo on line 3: 'outoad' instead of outloud. Yikes! Lert's see if I can edit. bE
Who are you why are biased with liars of my state? Why do you always trouble me through absurd anonymous comments? Can't you live without my state people who are liars and conspirators?
I THINK EITHER DILLIP WAS IN A MENTAL CRISIS OR SOMEONE WAS IMPERSONATING HIM.....or....AT OTHER TIMES WHEN HE IS 'NICE' HE IS BEING IMPERSONATED! ! ? ? ?
Thank You Bri, for this magical poetry. Loved it. Just added to Myfavourites so that I am reminded to come back.
And we had paddy fields. The smell of flowering paddy is intoxicating. So are the flowers of Areca nut trees. When I look back, I feel that we had a childhood in heaven.
Part 3. We used to have large area covered by flowering plants, like roses, jasmine and many more. Fantastic fragrance filled the breeze always- a mix of many nice sweet smells..
Part 2. Many mango trees, jackfruit trees, coconut trees, cashew nut trees etc are yielding fruits. And decent shade too over the land.
now i've sent this to my 'favorites'. Thanks for stoppin' by folks. I think 'Dr. Swain' may have a split personality (see below) . : (
