Tree Sparrows And Lies Poem by Lea Kardov

Tree Sparrows And Lies

My love is winter, so don't ask me to spark.
I don't scream, and I never bark.
I don't wave my hands to the sun but guide you through.
They will be the pillow you can lay down this rotten heart.
They will keep you safe from the storm, and the scars summer gave us, the time we stumbled for heaven but found the pieces breaking apart.

My love is like winter, so don't ask me to be the glass of fun on a midnight sea. Viva la Vida doesn't work for me.
I will carry you up the mountain, may you want to know.
I will give you the last leaf of my willow and let you know that you are free to go.

I am the winter you never wanted to hold.
Sought summer that strayed the view of eternity and swirled away.
I am winter, and I ain't cold.
I am the home for the tree sparrows we created from lies.
I am the pillow of snow, will wear your blood as my own, will wipe the tears of the lost children you didn't own
