Nice and great, statistics are always deceptive.

Right on! I love posting poems, making comments, eliciting responses. I don't like rating poems. I love listing my favorite poems and poets. (I'm sorry some of my favorite aren't available for me to list; I should be able to list them even if the text is not available on PoemHunter for copyright or other reasons.) In other words, I like almost everything about PoemHunter. If somebody's going to give me points, let it be for making a comment that the writer of the poem found helpful. That's happened to me only once, but it MADE MY DAY. Write on!

Absolutely Spot on Elena! This work is a great lament and condemnation of what is going on in this site. I have only been posting here for only three years, but in that time I have seen a disturbing trend in near commercialization and the system of awarding people stats if they post comments or kudos to other peoples work. This is a place to inspire creativity not foster statues, great work though unfortunate that it had to be written.

.......an interesting write....it's always nice to see what others think....also, i am not sure why there is importance placed on statistics....but it does kind of make me feel bad to see how many people do not like my comments....part of me wants to delete my account....but another part of me loves poemhunter and the people here....thanks for sharing this write...
