Treasure Down Under Poem by Wamii Flyer

Treasure Down Under

This Aussie heat has struck me down
But me sparkling ingot's all well

Unfortunately, no sight of the Aussie cold
Me crook excavator's overheating

Blimey, this is legit unbearable
Least the sun's also shining on my wallet
I won't be closing this season in the red
This metal, no, golden giant costin' a pretty penny

A mint autumn rest will do me good
Goin' from yellow to more yellow
Might be a wee bit much for this winter-loving body, eh?

I'm aware, mate, me poem leans on the rough side
But I swear these dirt-washed hands
Ain't too distant from literature
It's just that gold's heavier than books for me
'Tis the reason they grab handles rather than ink pens
