Trapped In The Purely Human Poem by Frank Sheehan

Trapped In The Purely Human

That's what I am
Trapped in the purely human
Enraptured by it's limitations,
excited by it's pleasures

It's not something
I would have aspired to
It is upon me,
my destiny and calling

It's a dreamland of sights and sounds - -
Wishing to be like the Gods
But I am not immortal,
must eat to persist

am encased by senses
that reign supreme
throughout the daily grind.
Feelings and emotions account

for a great deal of my actions
while I struggle through
temptations and turmoils
of satisfactory desires.
