Maybe 'she' is not 'flawed'? Maybe 'God' meant for all humans to be 'transgender', so-called', but 'Satan' (ha ha) had other ideas and made most 'men' look like 'men' and 'women' look like 'women'. Hm? ! bri : )

'Swallowing stigma and abuse Each day waking up with a start' Well, I certainly hope that most/all transgender persons DON'T have such feelings! ! ; ( bri

I'd type 'incessantly', not 'incessant', but I'm not in India.

Please read my 2018 comment. Unfortunately, Valsa has fled PH for a site she prefers after PH 'changed' several years ago. : (

stygian: 'stygian • \STIJ-ee-un\ • adjective, often capitalized.1: of or relating to the river Styx 2: extremely dark, gloomy, or forbidding.'

Wonderful composition with a sympathetic attitude. How she is treated is so touchingly inscribed. Let me cite.... People call her a eunuch One divided between the selves A hapless denizen of an inhospitable world Disowned even by parents.... Brilliant work.

You deal with a sensitive issue with such great insight and empathy. The line " never go into the making of a Cathedral" has, I find, both great metaphorical and literal meaning in the context of the work. A fantastic poem, Valsa.

But she is tied down in her chains An anomaly of creation A curse and a taboo Swallowing stigma and abuse Through out the whole world, the issue of transgendered people has endangered controversy for no reason other then it is human beings trying to orient the identity they themselves are. The days of binary thinking have to change, in order to move on. This poem touches me on a deep level since I am personally familiar with the subject. Once again your humanity shines through 10

She is human, one of a kind And needs to be seen through the eyes of God! . Let us pray for a golden day for them. An appealing poem....10

1- I'll take the one on the left. haze is good; i prefer daze ***..maybe. walls would hem. *** but i think you MAY be generalizing in making transgenders all sound alike and as though all are living a dismal life. It may NOT be so. i don't know. YES! anomaly: 1. something that deviates from what is standard, normal, or expected....but a person nonetheless, for good or bad. (cont.)

Valsa ji, you have taken up the subject with utmost seriousness and sensitivity which it truly deserved, By and large, transgenders are looked upon with disdain or contempt in our society. Nobody knows about where they live and how they live. They are desperately trying to get a place of dignity and recognition. Very little has changed on ground, so far. They deserve social acceptance, education, health care and all other rights which an ordinary citizen enjoys.

You have given a serious thought to my poem and have analyzed it in all detail! Unfortunately they are marginalized and kept at the fringe of the society forgetting that they have also equal right for a respectable living. Thank you so much for your empathetic and analytical comment!

But she is tied down in her chains/An anomaly of creation/A curse and a taboo/Swallowing stigma and abuse.....I can feel their apathy! A great poem on a burning social issue! Though they have been given status of the third gender but still they have not been brought to the mainstream! You have brilliantly unfolded their miserable plight through this beautiful poem! A work of great substance! (10)

Where do I belong? Where do I fit? The answer! They belong to the human race. They have every right to live a life of human dignity. We have to accept and integrate them into our society with love and equality. Bravo! A wonderful poem on Transgender, dear friend Valsa........ The poem deserves full 100

As always- a wonderful composition. You have written with a tender touch of care and sensitivity about their feelings and the challenges that these people often face. We have to recognize their Identity and conflicts on equal basis and support them in their struggle for equality and better treatment. So good to read your poems again and see you writing.

Thanks a lot Savita. I am quite sensitive to this issue and one thing I cannot stand is discrimination. I hate it on me as well as on others.

A very fine poem on 'transgenders, that carries the signature of your sympathetic heart towards a section of community who are treated with much injustice and disdain for no faults of theirs.Let me quote- People call her a eunuch One divided between the selves A hapless denizen of an inhospitable world Disowned even by parents Though flawed and far from perfect She is human, one of a kind And needs to be seen through the eyes of God!

Yes, Bharati....! Discrimination of every sort is despicable! We are all God's creation and need to be treated with love and respect! So happy for your beautiful comment and thanks for the same!
