A grain of sand held ransom
by the faintest whiff of wind;
Launched, the headless doesn't know its destination.
A bird flutters it wings to fly;
It lands to catch a worm
Myopia overrules pleasure, flight remains hidden.
A weed laden garden awaits footsteps.
A kite flies on string in limitless sky;
Hands on the ground release its thread; inch by inch,
till a gust of wind frees it from the clutches of gravity.
Grain rests at the crest of dunes.
The bird eats to fly far,
Weeds vanish, dewdrops attract footsteps.
The kite is freed, it flies beyond reach.
A boundless mind; like a candle
Lights dark alleys inside doubt,
Infinite destinations are suddenly reached,
A journey begins with a new tread.
Full of figurative language and vivid imagery - my head is whirling with poetry! S :)

Hi Nikunj - 'The intuitive mind is a sacred gift- use it wisely - never misue it! ' The key to understanding your delightful poem is in the last stanza 'A boundless mind - like a candle - lights dark alleys inside doubt - infinite destinations are suddenly reached - a journey begins with a new tread'. 'Suddenly reached' suggests a 'Quantum leap' in our thought process - new doors open - new enlightenment dawns - we are TRANSFORMED! The metaphores you use are very very apposite: The grain of sand whisked form A to B - the bird in its daily quest for life giving food - the worm unwittingly becoming part of an intricate 'food web' - the kite born by the wind and then released from gravity - weeds an essential part of the biosphere - footseps an essentialpart of the journey. Darkness of mind is enlightened by the luminosity of a single candle - doubt is dissapated and 'A journey begins with a new tread'. Thanks Nikunj - this is an ideal poem for a Cold November Monday Morning in the UK - I score it MAX. Yours in Poetry - JOHN.
Yu give us strong reasons to sit and watch nature, very well written thanks Lynn
Interesting, my first thought was that of poetry, how an open mind with it can take us anywhere we want, even the reader-limitless, really. Poetry transforms us while writing it and reading it. I have to say it was engaging and suspensful-very nice!

I would like to translate this poem
Just as that grain of sand knows no boundaries, the mind is free to explore beyond what we already know. And we all seek that freedom to fly - physically, mentally, and spiritually. A wonderful poem filled with endless possibilities. Linda :)
