Transform Me Poem by Skylark Woodrow

Transform Me

Father,
Look at these hands,
Look at this heart.
God,
I know that You have called me to love Your people well,
I know that You sent Your Son to show me how;
But God,
I fall short.
Lord,
You know the desires of my heart,
And You know that what I want above all else is for them to see You in me.
Father,
I see Your people, broken, hurting,
And I know You can heal them.
They have a God shaped hole that they are trying to fill,
And it consumes them.
God,
They need You,
Just as I need You.
Lord,
Empty me of myself,
Take everything till there is nothing left but You.
Fill me with Your kindness,
Fill me with Your acceptance,
Fill me with Your healing.
Give me Your heart.
Recreate me,
Transform me,
Make me like You so that I will be able to love Your people like You do.
