Torvill And Dean: The Impossible Dream Poem by Angela Wybrow

Torvill And Dean: The Impossible Dream

Rating: 5.0

Endless stars fill the night sky,
As a skating couple go gliding by;
The pathway ahead is smooth and clear,
And, in their wake, pretty patterns appear.

Unseen magic fills the night air,
And fills the hearts of our skating pair;
The sky is an explosion of pinks and blues,
As, over the ice, they effortlessly cruise.

Her blue chiffon dress catches the breeze,
As she's swung about with the greatest of ease;
Her partner in crime, looks so debonair,
As, this magical moment, the couple both share.

Beneath the moon and the Milky Way,
The couple deliver a breath-taking display;
In their performance, both are immersed -
No words are needed for them to converse.

Under a glittering galaxy, they glide and slide.
The joy on their faces, they're unable to hide.
Whether skating together or skating apart,
A flame burns brightly in each of their hearts.

The routine they perform, is beautiful and bold -
The warmth in their soul, keeps out the night cold;
After delivering a performance filled with great zest,
Upon the ice, the couple now come to rest.

Catching their breath, the couple now stand
Shoulder to shoulder and hand in hand;
A shooting star soars across the night sky:
Above their heads, they both watch it fly.

It leaves a silvery trail of sparkling light,
As it streaks its way through the dark night;
Twirling and swirling, they've both had great fun,
But their stunning routine is now over and done.
