A tree planted on every such occasion as mentioned in the poem, will stand as a witness in God's Court and bear testimony to the torture inflicted. This is my extended thought on this nice poem.

This is such a remarkable, beautiful poem. It reminds us that no matter how we are cast down, we can build up, and when what we have built up is destroyed, we can begin to build anew.

When they begin to torture the trees and cut down the forest they have made start another. So the torture goes on endlessly...

Plant a tree! The best solution for all problems. Violence can be treated and mellowed down only through non-violence. A thought provoking poem.

It reminds Gandhian philosophy of non violence. Mahatma Gandhi the protagonist of non violence movement against British rule in India insisted that torture/ cruelty and hatred can be conquered only through love. Well deserved modern poem of the day.

A must read. The juxtaposition between mindless violence and rebuilding, between rage and wisdom, between death and affirmation of life.... between no and yes. Plant a seed... maybe of love, maybe of justice, maybe a tree.. but plant and nourish and grow.
