Tortuous Toil (Part 8) Poem by Kingsley Egbukole

Tortuous Toil (Part 8)

Rating: 5.0

Doggedly stepped ninth and tenth
Almost fell again
Caught self unconsciously
Steeped eleventh in quantum rigour
Stumbled to a twelfth
With mind pulling dead ice mass
Absolutely exhausted
Collapsed unknowingly

Woke to brand new day
Soul happy not knowing why
Stared ahead
And behold the Canaan
Promised land within reach
Rejoiced my soul
Nares eat plenty air
Power station pump fluid
Generate energy
Obscure steel crackles and ignite
Tendons, muscles rejuvenate
And dead sagging mass grudging comes to live.
