Torn Poem by William Kofoed

Torn

You must go

For them to save

Go away

Do not return

They were angry

They were mad

You must return

Try again

We don't believe

Never come back

They told me

Never come back

They are wrong

They must be saved

So I stood

At the driveway's end

A pawn within

A power play

Two people

Using me

I am here

I have returned

Yet I will not

Trouble them

Two people

Will get

My answer

This

I did go there

They did not change

But a child

I did learn

To hate

This task

And hate

Will burn
