Too Long Vacant Poem by Lawrence S. Pertillar

Too Long Vacant

Ridiculous it is.
Absurd.
Comical and pointless.
Are threats made today to make.
Since this gives those threatened,
Enough time to find...
Which ways to choose to retaliate.

If the ones making threats,
Do this to boast and brag.
And at their best to select.
More often than not,
The laughter they hear...
Is at their own expense.
Heard coming from those,
Who know...
Whose butt is at the end,
Of a joke heard told.

To believe those threatened,
Have not learned over much time...
Their minds are more powerful.
Than a bully who sits,
Behind pictures to insist.
Weapons to display.
Can be unleashed,
Upon anyone when wished.
With it done to have witnessed,
Unbelievable and achieved effectiveness.
More powerful than a locomotive.
And certainly over a mind that is used.

Although,
The ones remaining fools.
Choosing the media.
To continually broadcast their stupidity.
Always expose to want it known,
An available occupancy is theirs to keep.
In minds unused.
For decades too long vacant.
