Tongue Curious - Lincoln Park Zoo Poem by Ima Ryma

Tongue Curious - Lincoln Park Zoo

I'm Pilipili and I do
Be curious about my tongue
Here at home in Lincoln Park Zoo.
Mom say mine's small cuz I'm still young.
But she says a lion's tongue is
A very important tool for
Doing successful eating biz,
Helping accomplish needed chore
Of scraping off feathers and fur,
And getting right down to the meat.
Tough as thick sandpaper for sure,
My tongue prepares my food to eat.

Mom says my tongue will grow, no doubt,
I'll see it when I stick it out.
