Tomorrow Poem by Richard D Remler

Tomorrow

...................................

not so very long from now
the sun may bid goodnight.
the moon and stars that shimmer now
might lose their little light.
a darkness cold and bleak and void
may claim this quiet place,
and steal away the gentle warmth
of which we now embrace,
leaving shades and shadows
reminiscent of a clue
to remind the sands of time
that we were only passing through.

It is an arresting thought that the sun may not rise tomorrow and all the light will be gone. I like your conclusion, 'we were only passing through'.
