The heart of this poem is in the title which dramatically returns in the last stanza with the RESCUE BY A SHINING HERO. But you could also call this poem YESTERDAY because it is a list poem of remembered details of the past. And these are fond memories, invested with considerable nostalgia and no trace of bitterness. I sort of felt the list poem inside of this poem was a PARADISE LOST. But this lost paradise is not a place you can return to but a time that has vanished: it lives only in stationary memories. // I'm taking your poem apart looking for something consoling, but you wrote a poem with its own integrity. My task is a fool's errand. Your memory of the past evokes Wordsworth's SPOTS OF TIME, which highlight his personal growth over time. In a sense, this poem anchors your feelings; we need such anchors because feelings tend to run amok, unlike thoughts which tend to get heavy and ponderous. I don't know if my comment helps you with any insight into your situation, but I know I am going to write a similar List Poem to anchor by roiling feelings. Thanx much for the inspiration! !
