Tolerance finds place When patience runs out of race
23 December 2014 To: Mr. Hasmukh Mehta Just in to-day's The Statesman I was reading an article ISIS stronger than West believes. It is a report on the German journalist Mr. Jurrgn Todenhofer who had visited ISIS terrorists in Syria & Iraq. His conclusion is, with every bomb that is dropped and hits a civilian, number of terrorists increases. The journalist observed in a TV interview that terrorists in Mosul are scattered all over the region and were the USA to bomb them all, they would have to reduce the whole of Mosul to ruins. Further, he observed, ISIS has worked hard to establish itself as a functioning state and that they have 'social welfare', a 'school system' and he was even surprised to see it has plans to provide education to girls! Now, what is the relevance of the above report with your poem? Well, it is as follows Lord Krishna said” I shall tolerate 1000 abuses” But on 1001, I shall refuse To grant any clemency He shall have only death mercy If USA is in the role of Lord Krishna, it is unable to spot the 1101st abuse. Our to-day's powerful Krishna is blind and had started giving negative results long before. That has been a contributory to to-day's all-pervading menace embracing the entire mankind at a galloping pace. Yours sincerely, Rajat Das Gupta Rajat Das Gupta, Kolkata Dec 23,2014
