Right on the mark Susan, although what I dont understand is in spite of the incompetence and total lack of compassion 70 million people still voted for the petulant child a second time. I guess over 300,000 dead Americans is a small price to pay to keep the economy afloat even though the entire ship is sinking. If I ran my ship the way he ran the country, well mutiny would be afoot.

I like to think I haven't missed the mark on this one Susan! . The dark sarcasm is not lost, I find it insane that we are in the middle of a pandemic but people are worried more about going to malls or shopping and our leaders are more worried about the economic engine then their own peoples lives! . But hey lets carry on as normal, while people die needlessly.

Oh, good, Kevin! ! ! I am so pleased you followed me through this one- -sometimes I think I'm clear but when I reread a week or too later I wonder if I was as clear as mud! The Petulant Child wants us to risk our lives going to the stores and buying stuff so the economy {rich people} gets healthy.

APOLOGY TO THE READERS OF THIS POEM. I am sorry. I was a bit too sneaky! This is a Get Well card to the American people in the grip of a pandemic and racial persecution from a self-centered ego-maniac who is more interested in wealth and notoriety than the health of our country. My pet name for him is Petulant Child. I missed the boat by getting too cute in this poem. I might try to write this one again.

I realize the owner of this house has been ill... but you really do need to get some books on the shelves.. some paintings on the wall... some nice comfortable reading chairs

Despite sickness and ill health man longs to accumulate physical comforts! A well maintained home with some paintings on the wall and books in the shelf will make a home look cosy and beautiful..... no doubt! But to enjoy all these, one has to have better health! With a debilitating body, one cannot enjoy anything! To be frank, I didn't get what you have really meant!

Really amazing verse, Susan. There's something here that reminds me of a David Lynch work...Maybe it's that fourth from last line...there's something about it that takes me back to Pogo...." I have seen...." A perfect 10!

A brilliant and vivid depiction of a person who is excessively concerned with physical comforts and material possessions. I like how this poem has been crafted. There is a tinge of sharpness/ incisiveness. but it was done in a clever and skillful way. Onto my Poem List.
