Every child is entitled proper care, education, nutritious food to grown well and to become a responsible citizen. Decades ago things were different when children were a neglected lot. Now things are improved. A relevant poem and likes it.

Interesting poem about children in your experience. Different to Australia but your poem is structured to imagery of a hard life. Any way a good poem.

To stand up against the terrible poverty that children have to face and the sinister forces that use innocent children for their own evil advantage is a scandalous situation that has been overlooked for too long! Powerful, hard-hitting and great write! !

This is one side of the picture. The great poetess Pervin Shakir shows the other side. She says, jugnu ko din ke waqt parakhne ki zid karen. Bachche hamare ehad ke chalak ho gae, i.e. Today's children are so clever that they insist to analyse the fire fly at day time. Thanks

Very true that the other side of the picture is splendid that they are doing marvelous job. On encountering a weird situation as portrayed in the poem I couldn't resist my self to raise voice for those vulnerable children. Thank you for the educative comments dear poet pal!

Good poem. Robert Malthus said, food will grow in arithmetic progression and children population in geometric progression. The planet earth by its fecundity and God by HIs ingenuous magnanimity can handle that but selfishness, greed and cruelty of mischievous will pose problem,

I agree with your lines sir. It is the selfishness and greed of human that is the major cause behind present crisis.

You have painted a stark picture of poverty stricken children of the street who we see on railway stations and on the road crossings of cities and towns.I just feel ashamed of our administrative system when I see children begging on the streets. It is a well known fact that these child beggars are used by Mafia to earn easy money Begging should be banned. The child beggars should be kept in Care homes and Govt. should take responsibility of educating these children.

Yes dear Heather ma'am, I concur with Sir David Wood s remarks and I am left with the same question, how would they get it? For some poverty, helplessness to some other yet majority are on streets due to mafia! This has to be controlled in prime line dear Ma'am

The truth behind every bony child Is a uncaring potbelly walking ahead Some have too much and will not share Be it material wealth or just plain bread........ Good poem and I welcome you to my page too

It is a sad fact that there are hundreds of street children in society. Education is the only way out for them but how do they get it? A god thoughtful poem.

Queeny, I feel that you are a mature person more than your age warrants! Such thoughts and actions from the part of youngsters are going to change the world! Innocent children are exploited by the greedy mafia! Making money is the sole aim of some people, least thoughtful of who all are mercilessly exploited! A powerful write! !

When these tiny tots begin to have real smile blooming on their faces, we shall begin to rejoice about our civilization. Queeny Gonna, now you have gone an extra mile into the diverse region of poetry, I feel.
