Today

Today is a special day
It's been long coming
I been meaning to face up to this unique day
One of a kind day
Another time i will never find
On this particular day
The setting is just right
There is a cool soothing breeze
The sun not too hot,
not too cold like its primed for this particular day
This day of days
The day seemingly chosen
Everything else frozen
Today i have the courage,
not dutch but real.
The day to say what i feel
I know its taken long
The urge to talk is strong
But i had to wait for this day
This momentous day to say,
that one in a million event,
is here no one can prevent.
This one day in a life time
This time is really mine
I mdressed really well
In my tuxedo looking swell
Today i look into your eyes,
so you know there are no lies
My right knee will kiss the ground,
will not check who is around.
My left knee will kiss the floor
I will bow a little more
On this fateful day
Hold both your hands
It's really been a long road
To remove this my load
I ve had sleepless nights
Wondering if this day is right
Many what iffs
Fear of unkown tiffs
Today i m ready
My nerves are steady
Today i m saying
"Marry me! "
Today.

This poem of yours really carried me away. The humility and gesture with which the expressions make sense and your personal touch makes it flow like butter. Thank-you for this beautiful piece of work. Though very late I came across this. A very touchy and emotional poetry a true sense of romanticism as poet's if romantic poetry scribbled. Thank-you.
