This poem is not about the saint but it is a result of the saint's example and blessing. The last line is a result of his dedication to God and fellow humans. It reminds me of a familiar religious song, which goes, THEY WILL KNOW WE ARE CHRISTIANS BY OUR LOVE. That is true religion. And this true poetry, but it's very different from the kind Marie wrote for Wagner. That type of poetry is cloudy, intense, a search through the Interior World. I write poems like that
