Thank You for your full honesty and creating emotion in these words
The bitter sarcasm and naked honesty in the poem is laudable. Indeed one sometimes has to sell one's soul to the devil to reach the top, but again as they say, once you've reached the top, the view is pretty lonely from up there, especially if one has reached the top through foul means. The poem drives home an important point which is not lost amid the gruesome humour induced by the caustic sarcasm.
Sorry Aswath, for posting some unwanted comments in your comments section.. For the time being, what I should comment for this poem, I am not sure..I will comment later. Thanks for sharing with us.
I don't know the key to success, but the key to failure is trying to please everybody..... a brilliant piece by a brilliant poet
Someone somewhere has read it between the lines, a few more may read it through each line and many may wonder what is it all about. May I dedicate your 'OR and SM' to the trillions of small living beings to ponder over while being reminded of the big brother in Aswin who slaps the foul brains from time to time? This is guts indeed!
Accepted, denial to it would be denial to a reality as bright as a broad daylight, but crude and morbid of course.
The truth in the poem only hurts who climb the magic box and sell their soul great original poem... regards
your magic box is full of wonderful thoughts and images. keep it up
Dear Poet, Poesy herself deserves, rather demands a very special reverence. True, we are eager to express our emotions, passions and imaginations blended with nude life facts. In this verse, what you have attempted is a very common, often discussed, debated, argued rotten political exercise, which always marks even the most honest effort as ' Futile'. The landing stanza itself would have been enough to proclaim a burning sarcasm and sharp criticism against the political manipulators, I suppose. Well, Cheers for such crispy expressions, anyways. Regards.
Hmm! ! Aswath... what is this? You have truly smashed everyone here! I feel like throwing in the towel and licking the dust! This is what Wordsworth long ago said... Child is the father of man! ! I used to consider you someone like my son! Now I think we should reverse the roles! True, there is a kind of spiritual saturation in all of us! Thank you for reminding us of our sorry plight! !
keep writing honest poems, because you are marked for honest criticism, that is rare... criticism accepted!
Dictator are like these kind of sycophants.... lured the world to their power!
