I watched as you grew up
From a child to a man
I always tried to do my best
To help you understand

I always had your best interests
In all I did for you
Thought I'm sure there were times
There was probably more that I could do

I was there to support to you
In everything you tried
The times you made me proud
But in private is where I cried

I know at times I angered you
But it was for your best
You see, at times you angered me
But that's a child putting his parents to the test

But with all that we've been through
There's something you should always know
That not one day has ever passed
When my love for you didn't show
