To My Daughter Unborn Poem by Kingsley Egbukole

To My Daughter Unborn

Beware,
My daughter unborn, beware
Today, I warn you
Of the sophism that flow out
The throat of men
To violate the chastity of unguarded lasses
With a king-hit

Beware,
My daughter unborn, beware
Be on guard always
This I have seen, and surely you will see

Today,
Unburden my mind, I equip you
Before hand with knowledge of the future
Many have seen and regretted
But few saw and triumphed

Be,
The few my daughter
To hold your head high
And make me proud

Beware,
My daughter unborn, beware
Of this sweet juice I warn
And it shall be well with you
