Human beings have been struggling with one another since Cain and Abel. It does not look likely to change anytime soon. But each of us must feel a personal responsibility to try to make the world a peaceful place, to get along with others, to settle small differences peaceably before they get big, to be concerned with each other's welfare. Then maybe hatred and rivalry can turn to tolerance and kindness, at least in our own neighborhoods. Good poem, Shimon!
