To Dr Bibian Ugoala With Thanks Poem by Chukwuma Livinus Ndububa

To Dr Bibian Ugoala With Thanks

My thoughts on whom toils for another's gain
a statue of calm, strength and strategy
This is the awareness one must not feign

My words leave Isseke, Ihiala
enveloped in cheer, courtesy and thanks
for Doctor Bibian Ugoala

I came forth as a character unknown
but you redesigned your home to house me
who values their luck will mimic my tone

I strive to draw upon your energy
you will see how you have strengthened me up
and my prayers you nurse like a liturgy

Now, into the actual world you guide me
following teaching me what waits ahead
I wonder what is more divine and free

You smoothen the journey to my success
Like King Midas' touch, you turn things to gold
You carved this path; now I watch my progress

While as well you do not see it, I watch
I did not start now and I have been awed
Every breath you take earns your place a notch

When the stairs of life you teach us to climb
you bare the spirits that govern each part
Your care cascades like the rain in Noah's time

Your remarks find the attentive as hints
In half a line, you'll thwart ten-page mischief
an art of your modest distinct footprints

You live your narrative behind laid ears
although time wakes or lends some a spyglass
Will efforts and virtues not earn their cheers?

The leonine sheep in the field of strengths
who shields her face when golden petals rain
This is the verve that goes to far-fetched lengths

Your heart is worth the defence of your mien
Is this why you brave strains without complaints?
On that source of your vigour I am keen

You probe issues that most minds fail to grasp
and find yourself answers the sages laud
You are the virtue the mindful will clasp

For the light you bestow on dark faces
and the strength you inject into frail hearts
you will not lack in the barren places

Your locutions and illocutions beam
All I command cannot repay their warmth
Now, you should feel God's grace to the extreme

Students scream respect from the depth within
because you fill the potholes on their routes
Let your readiness for more thanks begin

My words will beneath meaning operate
if I commend kismet for your nearness
You came down as God in your traits and gait

Here and now, it seems tough to be so good
but may the courage never elude you
nor should you lack motives for all you could
