The message of medicine has change from a humanitarian task of reviving people with transparency and equity to a mere money-generating task. The poem is a fatherly advice for a doctor on the outset of this path. The poet through the poem equates medication with wisdom it is not a mere medication and subscription of drugs it is more elevated that that. The poet want the doctor he addresses to be a real doctor and to exercise the value of human. Thus, the poem touches a sensitive area in today's Sudan.
Well Ustaz Mohammed Sulieman, thank you so much for your nice comment. I am happy you are following my work now, hope to see your writings very soon.
A beautiful advice from a loving father to his daughter on her completion of the medical studies and getting into the world of the sick..! Yes, besides mastery in his/her profession, what is needed more in a doctor's life is compassion, commitment and the willingness to serve the needy! A great poem
Thanks Valsa. Yes doctors are people of wisdom. We need them to help us and cure our physical and spiritual illness as well.
