To Discriminate Poem by Mohabeer Beeharry

To Discriminate

The knot of this creation is tied
With both good and bad,
All made by God.

There is good
And there is bad in this world.
Still I love this world because God made it.

Man could be a scorpion
Or a viper
But from him great saints and avatars are born.
I love him because God made him.

The village pond could be treacherous,
The hill and mountains perilous to life
Still I love them because of their serenity
And because they are all God's handicrafts.

There is nothing here
That is not of his making,
And they were never made to be traps,
More of a blessing.

God gave us intelligence to discriminate
Sensitivity to love
And wisdom to choose rightly.
