To Be A Man

Pravat Kumar Mandal

I want to be a man now.
What does he look like?
It's true I don't know how.
Is his look godlike?

I hear man has a big heart
Don't take it a fun.
Well! Who measures the heart?
What fool is it done?

I search man, free from the sins -
The cardinal vices.
To him all the world his kins
With the seven graces.

I find a man-made craftsman
Who will make me perfect.
Looking for him now I'm wan
And I shun the project.

On going to be a man
I halt every step.
Humanity seeks heaven
For eternal sleep.
