To Be A Husband To Be A Father Poem by Dorsey Baker

To Be A Husband To Be A Father

Rating: 5.0

In his den
He sits at the bar
He made for himself
Drinking alone
Thinking aloud
All around him
Things that he treasures!
His old record player
His old records
A picture of himself
Riding a fancy looking
Motorcycle
Picture of his very best friend
Who passed away
Way too early!
His favorite bottles of
Scotch whiskey
It's his island of freedom
Where he won't be bothered
A place where
He can organize his thoughts
Away from the children
The wife
Until he decides
It's time to emerge
Be a husband be
A father
Once again!
