such a warm welcome piece full of love and affection.... written with mirth in your heart...and profound joy WELCOME HOME......Alicia....
Lines that quenched some nostalgic OFW's thoughts of leaving the fields of gold...for home.
nothing like home coming...and that too such a warm welcome!
Wo! a paired poem, like it. Definitely we differ in writing styles. You probably are young enough to be my son or grandson and it shows in the write, I tend to be a bit more wordy in the near classical genre (modern?) against your (postmodern?)
I will differ on this one by giving you back what I took: Going Home He subdues the restless Urge to worry And dressed up Instead. It is four-thirty. Everything's ready: The Samsonite dymoed and masking taped. Rechecked thrice (the third, For good measure): the hardware Safe in the linen. There is time for a cup of coffee (Good old cup, portable dreams Rec hall prayers, Roaches poems,35-mm hard-ons Rotgut wit) And another once-over Before the looking glass. Then the thinking. Looking good, the stories Will have to take shape In the air. A hand-carried Purse of friends sharing Time - a necessary semblance Of farewell - for a passing Token (if no pictures Are taken) to the folks. Time is a Slowly dying enemy until The boarding stub.
