Dreams are much needed in life! Thanks for sharing this poem with us.
Wow! Very intense poem, sharing the truth of ugliness of war and it's negligence towards humanity. War is the choice of politicians only trying to gain money and wealth from it's destruction. We the People of the U.S. are a peaceful people, preferring not to go to war. We need to get rid of those in government that keep choosing war over peace, as do all countries throughout the world. Learn to compromise, live and let live, that is what humanity needs to begin doing from this day forward. So many innocent lives are taken, maimed, families broken, loved ones dying, it is the main sin of all mankind. Jets do not kill people, the ones controlling them are. I had wanted to join the Air Force and be a test pilot, even though I'm a woman. It was not meant to be, and after seeing the devastation war has wrought, I am glad of it. When 19, I did learn how to fly a Cessna and a twin beach plane, nothing like being free and at peace above in the sky! Loved this poem's honesty in so many ways, thank you for sharing your thoughts.10++++++++++ RoseAnn
Dear Rosean I am very much pleased to read your comment. You were so nice and sympathetic. I thank you so much for your nice human feelings, war is really ugly even if you have won all your battles against your enemies.
I have once dreamt to climb to the sky To collect the stars with my barely hands And make them a garland for my love And bracelets round her softy arms What a wonderful imagination.......... then you begin to ask questions, why did u kill, rape, destroy. why, why. at the end you become very positive and full of hope. thank you very much my dear poet. tony
Thank you so much Dr. Tony for your nice words about my poem.
A very beautiful and moving poem. It is one of the best poems I've ever read. I am totally gripped by the easy flowing Wordsworthian style. I congratulate you Dr. Ahmed for this great piece! Your poem opened my wounds wide as it reminds me of the memories of childhood and the painful loss i suffered as i grew to be shocked by the perception of calamities of war and the inhumanity of humanity. You are a poet of great merit and I look forward to reading more of your poems. Thanks for sharing. Istabraq
I am very sorry Istabrag to come late to read your nice comment about my poem. thank you so much for your sincere feelings and encouragement. Ya, this is war. It is always so ugly.
