To A Hippie Poem by Sasanka Sekhar Panda

To A Hippie

Friend!
most probably you are thinking
about the primitive simplicity
of the human race
which met decadence
and in course of time
civilisation forced all
to show devilish actions in decency,
to take drugs all the night
to visit the wild life sanctuaries
to drink
and to be drowned
in the darkness of the gorge
to reach a monastery
till the heavy rain
swept away their thoughts
and the storm
shaking the heart-window
in full swing.

Friend!
you sit alone
in the wilderness
of the human jungle
as if enlightened
in the city of the blind.

Perhaps you endure the burning insult
of the humanity and laugh.

Your thought illuminates
the dream of a new world
a strange new world
of love, love and love only.
