Tiny Yellow Flower Poem by Devesh Path Sariya

Tiny Yellow Flower

Unknown by name, these tiny flowers
extend their tender reach from grass, bush, or leaf,
offering solace in moments of sorrow.

A glimpse of a tiny yellow flower amidst the grass
brings me to an abrupt halt, like a car with a powerful brake.

A familiar sight it is, reminiscent of another flower
that once adorned the garden of my home.

Now, both flowers stand before me,
one in reality, the other in my recollection.

The flower, caressed by the wind's scent,
dances in harmonious rhythm,
yet I resist the urge to touch or grasp it
solely for the sake of capturing a photograph.

To pass by without drawing near,
without etching it into my memory,
and to simply continue on my way
would be waste of this fleeting existence,
not of the flower, but of my own.
