Hi, Francis. Having grown up in the Scottish Highlands, I can identify with this picture of an almost bygone way of life. I say almost, because there are still one or two groups roaming around the northwest, When I was a boy, an old fellow from one of the caravans mentored me a bit in fly fishing. He'd invite me in for a cup of tea with him and his wife now and again. Their caravan was like an Aladdin's cave inside- magical. Your poem is a reminiscence I enjoyed.
