Next to this poem is a list of RELATED POEMS. The very first poem in that list of poems related to yours is AFTER THE POET'S DEATH. That's my poem! Yes, it is! I wrote it in 2014, not about a specific poet, certainly no one real who had died, I wrote it to take a close look at grief. A grief observed as C.S.Lewis put it.// Is the grid the over-lay used in the 18th cent.to help in doing perspective drawing? I not sure about the speaker's location or disposition. Is the wall what separates the children's innocence from the adults' experience? And is THE LIFE BEHIND US the adults' memories of their childhood?
Strong imagery in the lines that carry a beat to the poem. Looking back at a little some one looking forward with dreams of their future. Well done
