Your use of Simile - The thoughts in my mind are like vultures waiting for a kill - captured the sorrows in your heart beautifully. Time is indeed the greatest healer as it alters our perspectives, in such a way that we begin to look down on our tribulations, and accept that which are beyond the limits of our circumstances.
