It’s a few years old but always appropriate for December, or anytime! Did they HAVE laser beams then? Or is there about to be a “Second Coming”? ? Some favorite lines: “She looked up from her reverie As she heard the flap of wings overhead And saw the flash of laser beams in her dim lit room Before her, stood a winged seraph A radiant silhouette with such gentleness and grace” [I’d say “Holy Shit! ”] And more favorites: “Did Mary’s world shatter like glassware Or did her virgin womb thrill with new life Did she swim in the waters of joyful tidings? Or gyrate in the sweeping swirl of tidal waves” I guess we can only GUESS! Until a copy of Mary’s Diary shows up. The movie rights would probably cost billions! This beauty goes to MyPoemList and to Section A of December 2016’s showcase. Perhaps it could be used every x-mas showcase IF …………..there are more! Thanks for digging through your poem archives for this. Now (for you) to paint a picture of the scene! Bri :)
As ever you have been analytic and pleasantly humorous in your evaluation of my poem. Thank you Bri for including it in your December show case and allowing it a resurrection! I am honored by sending it to your favorite poem list!
This is exactly narrated in the same way in Holy Quran, What a lovely poem. I return 10 out 25 that I earned by reading this poem.
You could not have expressed this poem so poignantly and with such great enthusiasm. Jesus born of a virgin is the greatest story ever told. Mary must have been in a state of mind that is indescribable. One has to wonder and believe since we were not there but we know that Jesus is here! An excellent write and Merry Christmas to all!
World never stopped to think what Mary felt. Your skill and sensitivity brought her emotions and feelings alive. Beautiful read. Thanks for sharing.
Beautiful poem. Mary must have fallen into whirl of tidal waves. Most of us don't think about it. A young women's thought and emotions expressed so well. Thanks for sharing Valsa.
Dinesh Sir comments, I couldnt control laughing. Such a beautiful comments. Its really a Tidal Waves swinging in her mind. As Kee Thampi has said God is beyong all. Beautiful and different write again from you Valsa. Loved it.
From our real world we know what......we have lot of experience............ No wonder to Dinesh.... A radiant silhouette with such gentleness and grace As never beholden on any human face With its hands raised in benediction, It saluted Mary and said “Blessed art thou amongst women… but God is beyond all, it is celestial I love it
Dinesh... To this mischievous question, I don't know what answer I should give! I am rendered 'answer-less'! ! Don't know how he looked like. Anyway not like his foster father Joseph! But I would like to imagine infant Jesus, a sweet, buxom baby full of gentle grace and divine radiance, may be more like His mother!
The mind of a virgin that went through the strange bliss of an unusual experience impacted by something that could much be aspired for or rather coveted by any virgin has been drawn on a clear canvas by you, Madam Valsa. My 'mischief' that has to be a part of my limited learning makes me tell another thing too. I am rather confused about the baby born to the virgin Mary and would like to ask you a small silly question, Did Jesus look like Mary or God when he grew up? I wish if he were like God in face and a thousand hands painted His face too which had/has an African complexion much to the compromises of all Asians, Americans, Europeans and the Islanders....
that nanosecond of a new revelation Captured beautifully in the poem. The contrasting questions keep hitting the shore like tidal waves. Ocean of silence stays calm for ages. Thank you.
a bewilderment indeed for the virgin! emotions she suffered is unknown.
I love the great imagery and the brilliant expression of such sensitivity of Mary's wonderful gift from God!
