Ticking Time Poem by Chukwuebuka Adebayo

Ticking Time

Ticking time,
Flippancy of prime;
When, where and how
Can men make the best use of your dow?

I have had you so much
Turning round in the couch
Watching those sit by the rand,
And laughing with a cold beer in one hand.

Time! Show me dear,
The way back to those years
Standing with a laying lizards
Messing round, Playing bets and throwing cards.

I have learnt from my sins
I am now out of my old skins
I hope I never know it too lately?
Or Time, it maybe I was just getting things ready? .
