Thyme Will Tell Poem by Daniela Iacoppi

Thyme Will Tell

I don't want to be a bonus.
The consolation for a life you consider erroneous.
I don't want to be the spice that brings flavour to your family recipe.
A simple additive for your nuclear serenity.
I don't want to be the courage you need to stay in your status quo.
I'm not strong enough to pretend to accept it;
To go with the flow.
I want to be the reason you find your wings,
Your spirit,
Your freedom.
I want to be your reason for leaving.
I want to be the catalyst for your desire; to grab the depth of your dormant emotion,
To bring it to light.
To destroy the unspoken.
To unleash in you the guttural cry of a conscious awakening.
Now I'm doing the taking.
Reaching right for the heart,
I want to be the one to start
Your renewal,
Surrender the duel.
Move the mountain of chained remains,
Only then can you ascertain
The emancipation of your true emotion.
A deliverance
No more hiding
No more hindrance.
A chance to be real
A chance to feel
To uncover
To discover
You.
