At Ruby Bridges they threw rocks
And swears and curses, bigotry and blocks,
Just for trying to go to school
To her they were evil and hateful and very cruel.
It wasn't the Blacks, the Latinos, the Hispanics or the Asians
It was all the Caucasians,
In the 1960s when white Americans protested
Not one violent protestor was arrested.
Now it's the year 2025
Sadly racism and bigotry is still strong and alive,
Now that incident is in every student's history book
To which they can search, find and look.
Now many grandparents are angry and upset
They see that time in history for them as a threat,
Their grandchildren might study and then sadly find out
It was them throwing the rocks with curses and a shout.
