Through Surrender Poem by Bien Nathaniel Gerodias

Through Surrender

I wither like a flower under a relentless sun,
each glance a scorch that drains my bud.
If your purpose is to rend me from this world,
let the final curtain fall swiftly,
so that I might bow to your shadow
with a semblance of honor.

To perish beneath the gaze of your sunlit eyes
would be a bittersweet end,
a final waltz on a dying ember.
Let the heavens bear witness
as I dissolve into the twilight,
your visage the last constellation I trace.

Do not stretch this agony into endless night,
for each heartbeat is a dagger that deepens the dusk.
Grant me release from this silent torment,
so I may find solace in your embrace at the end.
