Through all my five and time-spun years
I`ve watched the moon full wax and wane
Beheld the oceans ebb and flow -
Walked in the sunshine and the rain

Make sure you keep spending at least a good bit of it writing your wonderful poems!
valerie, i'm SURE you shall use it well.. well done. if i had ten thousand hours in a day i would try reading all of your poems and those of many more poets on this site. but, alas, one must eat and sleep, exercise outdoors, and let his wife use HER computer. Hail to The King by the way (one of your fans below) . AND i must continue putting out my own poetry which most believe is Superior to the King's, despite what His Powerful Mind wants to think.
What more can be said. It is life encapsulated. Simple, true, and relatable- what good art should be. I wanted to also thank you for your comments on my postings, and let you know that I will be posting the rest of my collection, about 90 more poems, upon my returning home in late December. Cheers Valerie, and take care.
I hope you get many more years Val because your without doubt one of the best poets on this site. But I've a feeling you don't know how good you are!
So beautiful! How I wish I had half your gift for poetry! I'll keep plugging at it though, as it's something I really enjoy. Thanks for the lovely comments on my humble efforts. Dawn xxx
Wonderful. This is a wonderful reading. One would love to read. I can feel one's sorrow for the past. the four lines `ve smiled through all my halcyon days With joy and splendour to abide But in the darker hours when known That`s when I`ve cried, O how I`ve cried are incredible look at the contrast between the two pairs of lines.... I really felt well your optimism in the last four lines So what remains in future years For such I cannot yet foretell - Whatever time be left for me I deem that I shall use it well in fact your good intentions for the life remaining. you never know may be more than spent. Love it.
Whatever time be left for me I deem that I shall use it well I've witness some of the same Val. The last two lines are priceless. A beautiful and well written composition that I feel speaks the sentiments of countless of us.
What a wonderful reflection, Valerie. It shows the heartfelt feelings of a great poet with a beautiful heart And then the final stanza, one full of hope and adorable intentions I think this is a masterpiece
It is a marvel that time spins out everything in a phased manner. Your experience with the people and things around has enabled you to go this deep! Valerie Dohren, a great poet herself has been spun by time like this... What a coincidence!
I love to read your poems because the are just the right amount of very clever AND understandable. The are such a smooth and hugely enjoyable read, like having my hair stroked really! I totally undertand your ranking on this site! : -) another lush one, with a deeper message.
We watch the ebb and flow of life and what lies ahead, we cannot predict. Yet if we can resolve, as you have- Whatever is left by time, shall be used well- life is going to be a success! A beautiful and inspirational write! !
What an observant eye, reflective mind. Wonderfully expressed. Simply admirable
