When the grass is at its greenest green And the sky the bluest blue When peace comes in just as the wind On a day made just for you May all of you tomorrow's Be gathered at your feet And on your soul I give my thanks For poetry oh so sweet

I too love this poem! It's expresses the same gratitude I feel after being at PoemHunter for just over one year. The metaphor you chose of a children's playground is surprising, it seems to be in the nature of a garden or paradise metaphor in so far as it emphasizes not so much innocence as sincerity, lack of guile, it's truly an asylum where we can be ourselves and develop our creativity. I find the tone of your poem perfectly pitched for its message. Overstatement is never effective, but understatement would not convey the sense of success. You are right in the middle with this celebration of us, A SONG OF OURSELVES!
