'This Man'
He tried! He is trying! He will try!
So they sing,
Done better than his predicensor,
So they sing.
Cheering his name everywhere you go,
Singing his praises here and there,
What has he done?
He is trying! He build this and that!
Building or renovating?
Which ever...
He is trying!
Still, the market woman pay for no services render!
He is trying!
Burglars at night and day,
Snatchers too!
He is trying!
What has he done?
I go round GRA, the road na jaga jaga,
Dancing in the vehicle to no music,
And ending up holding head in pain.
Still he is try!
Did his predicesor did half of his?
Wait a minute, why compering to a devil? Why not imitate Ambrose Alli? Murtala Mohammed and other great minds? Instead of destroying all in the name?
He is trying!
So they sing!
School fees at constant inflation,
Even not free, why not affordable, at least for humanity sake?
Still he is trying!
So they sing.
I go around schools; teachers dying of stavation, irregular payment!
Colleges of Education have been home for months' strike action
Yet, he is trying
So they sing.
I go around 3rd,2nd and 1st east circulars,
Less life living for all,
Over taxation, pay higher than you earn
Electricity, close to dead.
This area in 3 hours, the other area in another,
And it is coming and going like Abiku!
Still, he is trying!
So they sing.
Then I go to Emu... And other villages around,
Hand to mouth everywhere!
No job! No investment!
He has done better than the man before
Why should one compare himself with devil,
Do what is right! Serve humanity!
Not self that matter, but humanity
Jah, I pray you to help this man to lead us well...2016 to path, is still far!
He once said, Edo is in a save hand!
Right now.... I doubt.
